HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)

6.45am – 7.30am
Instructor: Coach Carter
HIIT, or high-intensity interval training, is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. This type of training gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time.

Boxing and fitness based circuit excellent for general toning, weight loss, cardio and core strength. Includes working on the punch bags, pad work, and resistance exercises with bodyweight and weights.

A range of exercises to help improve your overall fitness levels – e.g. bodyweight exercises such as push ups, sit ups, burpees, planks; plus boxing conditioning workouts to help build stamina and strength and improve your overall cardiovascular fitness.

Both classes offer a fun, inclusive workout for ladies of all ages and abilities, taught by a female instructor. Involves a gentle warm-up, basic boxing techniques, punch bag drills, partner pad work, circuits and “tums and bums” exercises – all non-contact and encouraging participation at your own pace and to your own fitness levels.

Boxing fitness cardio involving the elements of boxing followed by whole body workouts, intense workout on the bags followed by pads and finishing with a core /cardio circuit. Suggested donation of £5 per class.


Junior Academy

Junior Academy 7 - 10 years old

Saturday 12.00noon – 1.00pm
Instructor: Chris McKenzie
Starting with warm up drills like jogging on the spot, star jumps and squats then advancing into stance, guard and footwork drills with punching combinations.
This class also involves boxing themed games to improve skilled work and add a fun element to training.
£1 per participant per class

Tiny Academy

Tiny Academy 4 - 7 years old

Saturday 11.30am – 12.00 noon
Instructor: Chris McKenzie
This class is a 30-minute introduction to boxing for young children.  We start with a light warm up followed by some basic stance, guard and footwork drills to get them learning the basics. The class also consists of boxing themed games and skipping.
